Two DUI Checkpoints Yielded to 34 Arrests

As part of the nationwide “Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, California Office of Traffic Safety decided to fund the two weekend checkpoints conducted last Sunday by the San Diego Police Department in Pacific Beach and East Village. A total of 34 drivers were arrested for drunken driving in those two spot checks.In East Village, a total of 2,000 vehicles were screened. 19 got arrested for DUI while eighteen vehicles were impounded. Fatal Collision in Salem due to Reckless Driving and Speeding

According to state police, speeding and reckless driving were two of the main causes of the road accident on Interstate 93.Initial investigation revealed that a white Ford F150 was accelerating at a high rate of speed while traveling south.
