Man Accused of DUI in Fatal Accident

According to officials in Riverside, Gregory Ethan Gurney of Corona, 22 years of age, was driving under the influence Friday morning causing a collision that resulted in the death of a man who was standing on the side of the road.

Gurney was driving a green Hyundai Santa Fe when he drifted into the right shoulder where a Jeep Wrangler pulling a trailer had been stopped. The 26-year-old driver was standing outside his vehicle when Gurney’s Hyundai plowed into his Jeep. Because of the impact, the unidentified male tumbled down an embankment.

He was charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI of drugs causing great bodily injury or death to another.
