Fairfax Man Arrested for DUI

According to authorities, a Fairfax man stopped in the fast lane of Highway 101 to take a nap when he got arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.

Police said they received a call around 3:40 a.m. about a car blocking a northbound lane of the freeway. Report also stated that the driver was intoxicated when he stopped to take a nap.

Barclay said officers conducted an investigation, “detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” and booked Smadbeck on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
