Former Quarterback Faces DUI Charge

Bob Avellini, 66 years old, was charged by DuPage County grand jury with felony drunken following his sixth DUI indictment last 2002.

According to court records, the suspect smelled a strong odor of alcohol and had glassy bloodshot eyes when he was pulled over by Roselle police officer. Authorities even described Avellini as somewhat confused and had subsequently acknowledged that he had been drinking right before the accident took place.

Avellini was charged with five counts of aggravated DUI and is expected to appear in court at the end of the month.
