Police Officer Faces DUI Charge

Philadelphia police officer Thomas Winkis was charged with reckless endangerment, DUI, homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter after he got involved in a fatal crash last September 14.

The incident happened in Northeast Philadelphia when both men were approaching the same direction. Because of the collision’s impact, the driver of the other vehicle died three days after the incident while Winkis was brought to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

“I’m very glad that he got charged and they finally got him,” Tammy Farries, the victim’s wife told NBC10 on Friday.
