Two DUI Checkpoints Yielded to 34 Arrests

DUI Sobriety CheckpointAs part of the nationwide “Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, California Office of Traffic Safety decided to fund the two weekend checkpoints conducted last Sunday by the San Diego Police Department in Pacific Beach and East Village. A total of 34 drivers were arrested for drunken driving in those two spot checks.

In East Village, a total of 2,000 vehicles were screened. 19 got arrested for DUI while eighteen vehicles were impounded. In Pacific Beach, 643 vehicles were screened. 15 were cited for DUI while 13 vehicles were impounded.
