Vacaville Checkpoint Led to 21 Arrests

Last Friday night, 21 drivers were arrested as the Vacaville police conducted a night DUI/driver license checkpoint.

A total of 1,228 vehicles were screened during the spot check. Authorities were also checking motorists for a valid driver’s license. Of the drivers screened, 16 were arrested on suspicion of operating an unlicensed vehicle and three were cited on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to authorities, checkpoints are set up in locations where they are most likely to be effective in deterring drunk drivers. Spot checks can also encourage people to drive safely on the road.
